One Nation

One nation built over bone,
Drinking blood just for the profit
One nation, we’re on the throne
Can anyone stop us now?

One nation land of the fee
Work hard and you might just make it
One nation, jobs two and three
Is it free to die?

One nation, we’re each all alone
Climbing ever higher for relief
One nation, each a stepping stone
Was that a shoulder or neck?

One nation, exporting our pain
Importing goods to soothe a populace
One nation, what have we gain
When we have lost our souls?

One nation built over bone
Ending lives for the profit
One nation, we’re on the throne
Can anyone stop us, please?

Wage Slavery

Want to be a billionaire? There’s a way.

Want to be worshipped? There’s a way.

Want to sit high and use and rule and abuse?

Where there’s a whip, there’s a way.

A crack on the back

Will get them to work.

Get them to lift, to lie, to fight, to twerk

Doesn’t need to be leather,

For a whip to hurt.

Where there is hunger, There’s a way.

Where there is thirst, There’s a way.

Where there’s illness and harm, need and storm

Where there’s a whip, there’s a way

Rest

Rest

The Road has been hard;

And it will be harder still.

You’ve come this far already

By your strength and will.

Once you cross this hill you say,

That’s when you’ll be done.

But you feel the league and miles,

You’ve crossed since you begun.

You push yourself one more step

But your body wants its say.

Your belly rumbles, your joints grumble,

Your feet you cannot sway.

Turn into the lit doorframe

Where food and drink can be found.

It is nearly nightfall;

Tomorrow, cover more ground

Sit and have some laughter.

You won’t forfeit your quest.

Spend a little time and coin

And get some needed rest.

Champion Overhead

On the eve of battle
I fall upon my knees
To crawl before you Great One
And offer you these pleas

Let the enemy be strong
Let the enemy be fierce
Make his weapons sharp
So my shield they’ll pierce

Let my arm grow weak
In that crucial time
Let me find the Sleep
And on the blood field lie

I wish to run forever
On your field of green and gold
With You, my Creator and
My kin of same make and mold

Please hear your warrior
I appeal to you alone
End my work in this foreign land
And let me return home

On Freedom

A man chooses
And so does the slave
So it has been since
The beginning of Days.

From the picking of the fruit
From the forbidden tree
Or from the explosion
That beget history.

Man has had but
One true problem;
That is the doom
Of his own freedom.

Choice, choice
Oh damnable choice
For in every moment of life,
The liver has their voice.

One can’t eat their cake
And the same slice possess;
As one can’t choose what’s right
And enjoy what’s left.

Any choice that brings
Pleasure, especially the strange;
Is harder to not choose,
If the chooser wants change.

Worst yet, any despair
Or time spent in pain,
The chooser, at the root
Have naught but self to blame.

Whether you believe it’s from God
Or man’s natural state,
No thinker should choose
To make the easy mistake.

Unlike simple beasts,
With instincts to lead,
Man is not blessed
But damned to be free.
